Charlotte Hornets Tickets
Charlotte Hornets - Michael Jordan-owned NBA franchise
Largely owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan, the Charlotte Hornets have remained the state of North Carolina's premier basketball team since their formation in 1988. You can both buy and sell Charlotte Hornets tickets on StubHub.
A team of many names
The Charlotte Hornets' origins date back to 1988, when they were an expansion team owned by entrepreneur George Shinn. After 14 years of playing under the guise of the Charlotte Hornets in North Carolina, the franchise moved to New Orleans and adopted the name of the New Orleans Hornets. The team underwent several further name changes throughout the decade, competing as the Charlotte Bobcats and the New Orleans Pelicans before returning to their original moniker in 2014. By this point, former Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards legend Michael Jordan had assumed controlling interest in the franchise, making him the first ever ex-NBA star to take on such a role. One of France's biggest basketball exports, Tony Parker, former Atlanta Hawks power forward Marvin Williams, one-time NBA All-Star Dwight Howard and 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams are just a few of the major names who have pulled on a Charlotte Hornets jersey since, while head coaches have included Dick Harter, Allan Bristow, Paul Silas and Steve Clifford. From the Charlotte Coliseum to the Spectrum Center
Demolished in 2007, the Charlotte Coliseum served as the franchise's original home before the team, then known as the Charlotte Bobcats, relocated to the Spectrum Center in 2005. Boasting a capacity of just over 19,000, the multi-purpose venue has also served as home to the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL and Charlotte Sting of the Women's NBA and continues to stage various music concerts, family entertainment shows and professional wrestling events, as well as various college basketball tournaments. Previously known as the Charlotte Bobcats Arena and the Time Warner Cable Arena, the venue's atmosphere is at its most electric when the Charlotte Hornets take to the court as the likes of popular mascot Hugo the Hornet and official cheerleading squad the Charlotte Honey Bees help whip the crowd into a frenzy.
