Musicals at Cambridge Theatre - From Fame to Jerry Springer

Built in 1930, the theatre was based on the popular expressionist style that had taken over German architecture in the 1920s. Designed with an interior that distinguished it from the less sophisticated music hall and contemporary cinemas of the time, gold and silver are central to its aesthetic. The beautiful filigree adorning the sides of the stage and the hallways create a fitting setting for the grand productions performed at the theatre.

Part of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group, the venue has seen the likes of Audrey Hepburn and Bruce Forsyth grace its stage and has hosted many classics, including Fame and Chicago. More recently, patrons of the venue have seen everything from the controversial musical Jerry Springer - The Opera to the innocently charming RSC production of Matilda the Musical performed on its grand stage.
