Out of the darkness and into the light
Brother and sister Caleb and Georgia Nott make up the New Zealand band Broods, having performed together since they were children and officially formed their musical act in 2013. Debut single 'Bridges' demonstrated their smooth synth sound, bittersweet lyrics and Georgia's incredible talent as lead vocalist, earning them instant critical acclaim, international record deals and a spot in the New Zealand top ten. The first Broods album, 'Evergreen', arrived in 2014 and supplied fans with more of their ethereal electronic sound and vocals that walked on the darker side of life; the name 'Broods' was intended to have a double meaning, referring both to their familial connection and the brooding nature of their music. But it was 2018 that was to bring a great change: after experimenting with live instrumentals on 2016's album 'Conscious', Broods dropped a new, vibrant and downright sunny sound with their new single 'Peach'. Crediting a move to Los Angeles with the development of their new style, they have discovered a new musical and personal freedom with which to delight their fans. More serious songs mixed in with the new style mean that Broods tickets will guide you on an exciting emotional journey.
Feel the thrill of watching Broods in concert
With deep, emo-influenced songs like 'Heartlines' and 'Free', the Broods album 'Conscious' featured collaborations with fellow dark pop artists Lorde and Tove Lo. Over the years Broods have supported Ellie Goulding, Haim, Sam Smith and Taylor Swift, and appeared at numerous festivals and headline gigs all over the world. Fostering a deep connection to their fans and a strong desire to challenge the standard formula of contemporary pop music, the duo is treading new ground both personally and creatively, pushing new boundaries and taking on topics that include depression, family and finding a sense of identity. It's no wonder that they are celebrated across the world, with Broods gigs packed with adoring fans who find themselves able to relate to the duo's powerful songwriting, regardless of whether the sound is dark or upbeat.
