Boyzone Biography - Bouncing Back
In 1993 Irish band manager Louis Walsh got five talented singers together to form a boyband: Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch, Michael Graham and Stephen Gately. The idea was to make an "Irish Take That", but their 1995 debut album 'Said and Done' showed that they weren't set to be a flash in the pan. They quickly followed it up with 1996's 'A Different Beat', which sold two million copies worldwide and made them global stars. 1998's 'Where We Belong' was even more successful.
In 1999 the band decided to take a well-earned break, and it wasn't until 2008 that they would return to full action touring. Sadly, in 2009 tragedy struck as Gately died whilst on holiday with his partner in Majorca. The loss was a huge blow for the band members, but they remained strong and continued as a band.
Their 2010 album Brother and 2013 album BZ20 demonstrated their collective strength before they consolidated their power with the stunning From Dublin to Detroit, an album of Motown covers, in November 2014. So don't miss out, get Boyzone tickets on StubHub, the world's biggest ticket marketplace.
