Having sold millions of albums, topped the charts year after year, and played with all-time-greats The Rolling Stones and The Who, you might think this band had surely reached their musical heights when they headlined Reading and Leeds for the second time in 2016. But this Scottish trio aren't showing signs of slowing down any time soon - new album Ellipsis is firm proof of that, and singles 'Wolves of Winter', 'Animal Style' and 'Howl' provide even more evidence.

Biffy Clyro - The Making Of Legends
The band's magnetic chemistry is likely down to the fact that they've known each other since they were seven. Growing up in Scotland, frontman Simon Neil and twin brothers Ben and James Johnston have now been writing music together for over 20 years, playing their first gig at the age of 15. After school, the trio moved to Glasgow and soon earned themselves a spot on the unsigned stage at T in the Park. Needless to say, their standout performance ensured they didn't remain unsigned for long.
15 years and seven albums later, this chart-topping band is still one of the hottest things in music. But where many may fall into the trap of churning out soulless festival favourites, the Scottish trio always stay true to their original sound, influenced by music "that came from the bottom of people's hearts." They took 2015 off to regroup, and have come back stronger than ever. Described by the Guardian as "fierce, weird and wonderful", their new work has proved exactly why they are the kings of modern rock.
