Entering into the mystical world of Aurora's music

Born Aurora Aksnes near Bergen in Norway, she first hit the music scene at a young age, writing both her own music and creating lyrics. Citing influences as far reaching as Bjork and Bob Dylan, and drawing influence from the people as well as the natural surroundings of Norway, her debut single, "Awakening", was released in 2013 and was swiftly followed up by the single "Under Stars" in 2014. Her popularity rose considerably with the 2015 release of the track "Runaway", which Katy Perry endorsed in front of her 66.5 million Twitter followers, as well as her cover of the well-known Oasis track, "Half the World Away" which was also featured on the UK 2015 John Lewis Christmas advert. She draws influence from her own experiences of growing up, as she says, far away from everything, as well as from the pitfalls and triumphs of learning how to belong and become self-aware, her deep love of winter and the stark beauty and innocence of Norway's nature. Her debut album, "Running with the Wolves", was released in 2015 to critical acclaim and her distinctive sound continued to evolve further with the follow-up single in 2016, "All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend".
