Alien Ant Farm Biography - Alt Metal Foursome

Formed in California in 1996, the group originally comprised of lead singer Dryden Mitchell, guitarist Terry Corso, bassist Tye Zamora and drummer Mike Cosgrove. They first started to make waves with their independently released debut Greatest Hits, which won Best Independent Album at the L.A. Music Awards. The exposure saw them make a deal with Papa Roach's New Noize records and Dreamworks to release their first major label release ANThology.

In a stroke of pure genius, the band's debut single 'Smooth Criminal', a funky metal cover of the Michael Jackson classic, topped charts across the world and the album proceeded to go platinum. The follow-up track 'Bug Bites' followed on sophomore effort truANT and was evenfeatured in Spiderman 2 movie with Tobey Maguire. After a few quiet years, the group returned to the scene with the ANTicipation tour of 2011 as well as Always and Forever in 2015.
