TVXQ: the 'Kings of K-pop'
TVXQ is an abbreviation of 'Tong Vfang Xien Qi', which is commonly translated as 'Rising Gods of the East'. It's a promising name that has been fulfilled time and time again throughout the group's career. Originally formed as a five-piece group in 2003, the band instantly began releasing top-selling singles and albums that were critically acclaimed not just in their home country but also internationally: the TVXQ single 'Mirotic' is still regarded as a classic of Korean pop. In 2010, however, they released their final album as a five-member group, taking a year-long hiatus to then reform as a duo. U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin, the surviving original members of TVXQ, showed absolutely no flagging in their determination to rule the world of K-pop and topped most Asian music charts with their 2011 album 'Keep Your Head Down'. Since then, they have released numerous singles, videos and albums, demonstrating a smooth development of their musical style that showcases their growing maturity and awareness as artists still very much at the top of their game. With energetic and dramatic performances a hallmark of their tour, tickets for TVXQ will offer you a show that you'll never forget.
The incredible experience of TVXQ live
TVXQ songs are regularly found at the top of the charts, not just in South Korea but in Japan, where the group has been an unprecedented success since 2006. They have achieved numerous records in the country for their tours and albums and firmly established themselves as the first or most successful foreign act to perform in many Japanese venues. After a brief hiatus for military service, TVXQ made a comeback in 2018, receiving a hero's welcome from their fans and renewed approval from the critics with their album 'New Chapter #1', which takes a more adult approach to contemporary pop music in charting the rise and fall of a relationship. Staying true to their roots in dance pop and R&B, the duo has continued their line in energetic, demanding live shows that often feature hours-long sets, creative backdrops and outstanding choreography. While other bands such as BIGBANG, BTS, Exo and Shinee all deserve their places in the K-pop hall of fame, perhaps none is as worthy as TVXQ, the real 'Kings of K-pop'. Don't miss out on seeing these legends live: tickets for TVXQ are available to buy or sell on StubHub.
