An effects-laden blend of doom, ambient, and shoegaze

This Will Destroy You formed in the Texan city of San Marcos in 2005, with Chris King and Jeremy Galindo taking on guitar duties, Andrew Miller playing the drums and Chris King serving as bassist. The group underwent personnel changes either side of their eponymous debut album's release, with Donovan Jones and Alex Bhore replacing Brown and Miller respectively. Following a split LP with Lumbyc Systym named ‘Field Studies', This Will Destroy You continued to develop their atmospheric, effects-laden, and purely instrumental blend of post-rock, doom metal, shoegaze and ambient on EP ‘Moving on the Edges of Things' and 2011 sophomore ‘Tunnel Blanket'. After releasing a live album recorded in the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik, the group entered the studio for 2014's ‘Another Language' and in 2018 released their fourth LP, ‘New Others', in two volumes. By this point, bassist Jesse Kees and drummer Robi Gonzalez had taken over from the previous two new recruits.
