Therapie Taxi Tickets
Discover the French hip hop/rock crossover sounds of Therapie Taxi
Therapie Taxi is a very unusual type of hip hop group. Hailing from Paris, they employ several singers as well as comprising multi-instrumentalists on top of their electronic backing tracks. They're equally at home splashing out into the odd rock song as well, and they swing effortlessly between the genres in much the same way as bands like The Police used their now famous "eight bars reggae, eight bars rock" formula in the late 70s and early 80s. Their use of live instruments to create their hip hop is also reminiscent of the multi-talented American artist Lupe Fiasco. Whether you're into French-language hip hop or not, you won't be able to resist the beats and melodies of this lot! You can buy or sell Therapie Taxi tickets on StubHub.
A quick formation leads to small gigs and festival appearances
Therapie Taxi met on the French musicians' social networking website, EasyZic, in 2012, through a post by the youngest member of the band, Adelaide Chabannes, who was a 17-year-old cellist and guitarist at the time. This led to a real-world meeting in her home suburb of Pigalle, and they decided immediately to form a band that they named Milky Way. With the addition of extra members came the change to their current name, as well as a repertoire of French-language rap and rock songs inspired by some of their own musical heroes, particularly the artistic collective known as Fauve and, quite fascinatingly, a French outfit billing themselves as a psych-punk La Femme. They began gigging wherever they could, mostly low-key affairs, with a highlight in 2017 when they landed a spot at the Rock en Seine music festival. In the same year they release an online single, "Salop (e)", and signed their first indie record deal with Panenka Music. Breakthrough pop hits in France and Belgium
Therapie Taxi then released a very successful Spotify album, "Hit Sale", which contained the first song that would earn them gold and platinum discs in France and Belgium. The first single off the album, "Idyllic Coma", didn't fare as well, but "Romeo Elvis" became one of the most streamed French songs on Spotify and was the 18th best-selling single of the year in France. This put them on the pop music map in no uncertain terms and they began headlining shows of their own, including a memorable performance at the Maroquinerie in Paris, where they also debuted two new members of the band. They were then selected as one of the artists to feature on the first Deezer-curated album, for which they covered Christophe's very popular "Aline". A second album, "Cadavre Exquis", followed in 2019, released once again on the major streaming platforms. Don't miss out on this dynamic group – get your Therapie Taxi tickets on StubHub today.
