The Milk Tickets
The Milk Tickets
Inspired by the sounds of Motown, but also combining elements of hip hop, dub, and dance into their music, The Milk is a UK-based group who goes beyond expectations. If you attend a show hoping to hear a tribute band recreating sounds from yesterday, then you will be sorely disappointed. Yes, The Milk borrow from the past, but they also bring along some of the present.
People wanting to buy The Milk tickets in order to hear them live will get the chance when the soul band goes on tour, with stops in Birmingham, Leicester, Liverpool, Sheffield, Manchester, Glasgow, and London. Go and get your tickets now, since they will probably sell out fast.
Although many people would like to think that the name of band has meaning, it was actually one name in a long string of them that finally stuck. Previous names for the band included: Charlie Bash and the Uptown Smash, Nigel Winterburn and the Flat Back Four, and Kenny Cornflake and the Milk. They decided to dump the Kenny Cornflake and just went with The Milk. The band had always intended to change it, but then it became too late.
The Milk includes the following band members: Ricky Nunn (lead guitars and vocals), Mitch Ayling (drums), Luke Ayling (bass), and Dan Le Gresley (guitar). They are also backed by keyboards and horns onstage. The four had never considered making music as a day job, until they realised they hated their current jobs and could not think of anything else they wanted to do. The four friends originally wanted to be a punk band. However, after believing that punk was dead, they decided to break up and rethink their strategy. They then came back together and embraced the classic sound of Motown.
In 2012, The Milk released their debut album Tales from the Thames Delta. Many critics were impressed, calling the album "exceptional," and "one of great debut albums of the century."
Tales from the Thames Delta samples heavily from classic R&B, but also provides a more current, rock-inspired sound, giving the listener a diverse blend of music to enjoy. In fact, award-winning actor Idris Elba performs a guest voice-over on the song "Picking Up the Pieces." The Milk's new single from their latest album was released on iTunes and on vinyl, along with "Kicking the Smoke," a bonus track that will not be featured when the new album comes out. "No Interruptions" continues the tradition of bluesy, Motown style, but also explores a more soulful side of the quartet.
What can you expect if you buy The Milk tickets? An unforgettable time. The four band members always have fun onstage, even while you're drawn in by their strong vocals and a lingering sense of the band's punk rock influences. Unlike The Milk's earlier shows, their recent music has a more soul-searching appeal, one that will take the audience on a journey they may not want to end.
