The Cinematic Orchestra Tickets
The Cinematic Orchestra - The Sound Of Modern Innovation
This long-serving collective has got to be one of the most exciting and innovative British musical acts still in action today, continuing to blaze a trail of experimentalism since their formation in 1999. Having delved into soundtrack work and covering the likes of Radiohead, their peaks remain their original recorded work, deftly brought to life on stage each night. If you haven't heard the name, you can be sure to have heard their songs, most notably 'To Build a Home' from their fourth album, Ma Fleur. A beautifully evocative score with over 60million streams on Spotify, it has been featured in at least five television adverts over the years. To end 2016, the musical collective tours the UK, bringing their powerfully emotive songs to huge venues across the country. An entirely unique proposition live, their complicated shows regularly feature plenty of improvisation, meaning that every gig remains a one-off. The Cinematic Orchestra Biography - 'In Motion' Once More
There's something to be said for shared experiences. Bringing together each members' varying skill sets and backgrounds, this band was formed in 1999 by principle songwriter James Swinscoe, and debut album Motion came out that same year. It channelled Swinscoe's DJ skills as well as that of fellow member Patrick Carpenter, and the critical success of the album led the collective to be asked to perform at the Director's Guild Awards ceremony. Next, they were invited to write a new score for the silent film Man With a Movie Camera, and that only opened new doors.
They later moved into cover work, in 2006 recording a haunting version of Radiohead's 'Exit Music (For a Film)', then in 2007 releasing an album of original material, Ma Fleur. With roots firmly place in dance, each composition has an instrumental beat, breaking down the barriers of music as we know it by melding piano scores and trumpet sounds with synthesisers and electronica. They returned to soundtrack work by recording the score to The Crimson Wing: Mystery of the Flamingos, the Disneynature documentary, then in 2012 wowed their fans with the release of In Motion, a collection of compositions they'd made for a series of short films. That record cemented their place among the most innovative acts on the cult music circuit, and now they're returning to the stage to bring their compositions to life. This is an opportunity not to be missed, so don't delay in getting The Cinematic Orchestra tickets on StubHub UK.
