Located in Portland, Maine, the State Theatre has been presenting entertainment to the public since 1929 when it featured The Trespasser, starring Gloria Swanson. From there, the State Theatre began showing matinees of children's cartoons such as Popeye, Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig. Eventually, the theater began including dance and theatrical productions while continuing to present Hollywood films. After closing down in 1990, the theater changed ownership, and by 2010, the State Theatre began mainly hosting live concerts. The State Theatre venue has presented concerts with acts, such as Melissa Etheridge, comedy shows with performers like Iliza Shlesinger and much more. Is there an age requirement for attending events at the State Theatre?

While some events may have an age requirement, generally, all ages are welcomed to attend State Theatre events and children who are under the age of 2 will be allowed to enter for free. And when it comes to consuming alcohol, all persons must be at least 21 years of age to purchase and consume alcohol and will be asked for I.D. if this is the case.
