Slava's Snowshow Tickets
Slava's Snowshow is an award-winning hit show that has been dazzling audiences in London for over 20 years. It has long been London's leading Christmas show, and audiences flock to the theatre to see it every holiday season. Slava's Snowshow tickets make a great gift for the whole family, since the show will definitely get them in the holiday spirit!
Slava's Snowshow isn't your typical theatre experience. Rather than a play, it's more of an interactive spectacle. The show offers a smattering of entertainment that includes Christmas fairy tales, spectacular visuals, total anarchy and Beckett-like lunacy that is hard to sum up in the sense of a traditional plot. Rather, the show features veteran Russian performance artist Slava Poulin, who leads the audience through a joyous, dream-like world of Christmas that culminates in a wild and dazzling blizzard! Slava's Snow Show is often considered a perfect seasonal event to get in the spirit of the winter holidays.
Slava's Snowshow is taking place at the Royal Festival Hall in Southbank Centre for the fifth year in a row. The show will span the whole Christmas season, with nightly performances at 7:30pm. Toward the end of the run, they add in a couple of 5:30pm performances as well. The Royal Festival Hall is at the heart of the Southbank Centre complex, and has been putting on shows since 1951.
The production of Slava's Snowshow lets audience members grab big handfuls of confetti, or "snow," from the stage and throw them upward to create a swirly snowstorm in the theatre! It has been produced in 25 countries since it started in Russia. The story is meant to fire up kids' imaginations and use spectacle and interaction to give them a taste of the pleasures of live entertainment.
The cast includes Russian-born performance artist Slava Polunin as the lead. He created the works and stars in every show, unless one of his understudies is filling in for him. Spencer Chandler also plays a lead role - he's an American actor who studied at the Hebrew Academy. Tatiana Karamysheva, Dmitry Khamzin, Christopher Lynam and Fyodor Makarov also appear as supporting characters in the show.
Slava's Snowshow was written by Slava Polunin in 1993 in Moscow. He started his career as a Charlie Chaplin imitator and then taught at the Leningrad Institute for Soviet Culture. He had a number of other highly successful shows at the theatre he created, including Dreamers, Eccentrics on the Attic, From the Life of Insects and Catastrophe. He has also done work voicing characters in animated feature films, such as Gofmaniada.
The show was produced by Mark Goucher, LTD, a production company that has been involved in many popular West End musicals and performances, including Hairspray, The King's Speech, A Chorus Line, Vagina Monologues, Footloose and more. Mark has been producing shows since his earliest production at the 1987 Edinburgh Fringe and did his first show in the West End in 1991.
