Founded by Portland-based singer and pianist Thomas Lauderdale and his classmate China Forbes in the mid-90s, this diverse and dazzling band of multi-lingual musicians first garnered success in Europe rather than their homeland. After minor chart success added a selection of awards to their mantle, the wider world started to take notice of their eclectic compositions and the band grew from a couple of people to over a dozen musicians. In the 2000s, the collective went on to sell out classical shows at London's Royal Albert Hall, and were invited to perform at events as prestigious as the Cannes Film Festival.
