From modest beginnings to sold-out gigs

Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK, the band was formed by Matt Baty who was the lead singer, Adam Ian Sykes and Sam Grant who played the guitar, while John-Michael Hedley was the bass player, and Ewan Mackenzie was on the drums. They shared a love for bands such as Monster Magnet and Black Sabbath, and as a result the music they created had a psych-metal and acid-rock sound to it with stoner influences. They released their debut LP in 2017, which included three songs but over 40 minutes of music, an indication that they were here to create serious music. This was followed with a second record called ‘King of Cowards’, an album packed with sharper and more powerful sounds, and double the number of songs, none of which exceed six minutes in length. In the first few years of their career, the band gained popularity and fans at a steady rate, and started played gigs in a large number of venues including smaller spaces, such as Thekla in Bristol which fits 400 guests, as well as larger venues, such as the Electric Ballroom in Camden Town, which can accommodate 1500 people.
