Phil Collins: legendary musician back with UK concerts in 2017, including shows at London's Royal Albert Hall
After a brief shot at retirement, the arrival of 2016 album, L.I.E.S.: Living In Every Situation, and the announcement of a string of 2017 tour dates has proved that 66-year-old Phil Collins was made to be on stage, with his playfully named tour Not Dead Yet, a stinging shot at his critics.
After a brilliant first week of shows, Collins' first tour in over a decade was sadly cut short last year due to a fall in his hotel room. But he's back in November 2017 with two rescheduled dates at London's Royal Albert Hall, where he will enlist his 15-year-old son Nicholas for drumming duties, including on the iconic drum break of smash hit "In the Air Tonight" on tour.

Phil Collins: "I've changed my mind" – retirement was never going to suit this musical legend
One of the world's most successful musicians, the London-born singer's first appearance on the stage was in fact as an actor, playing the Artful Dodger in the West End production of Oliver! aged 13. A keen drummer since the age of five, the artist's heart was always in music though, and while attending Acton's illustrious Barbara Speake Stage School he teamed up with a few fellow students to form his first band. Named 'The Real Thing', the outfit achieved small success before Collins answered a newspaper ad in 1970 to play the drums for legendary band Genesis.
The drummer was accepted into the fold, giving the then-fledgling band a much-needed shake-up. Fast-forward five years and five studio albums and Collins found himself centre stage after frontman Peter Gabriel took leave to pursue a solo career. The change in their music was striking – while his predecessor preferred a conceptual, niche style, the band's evolved into a universal and radio friendly sound under Collins' charge.
A clutch of popular albums followed before the drummer-turned-singer set out on his own to release a solo effort. 1981's Face Value, was a success, storming to UK number one and going multi-platinum thanks to monster smash "In the Air Tonight". The LP's lead single became the singer's signature tune, largely due to the cult fame of its iconic drum break. In 1982, the Londoner followed up with second solo album Hello, I Must Be Going which featured fan favourites "I Don't Care Anymore" and "You Can't Hurry Love". Further hits like "Against All Odds" and seven studio albums ensued before the singer announced his retirement in 2010.
The break wasn't for long though: in 2016, much to the delight of fans worldwide, the musical legend released a new album, The Essential Going Back, with remastered versions from across his discography. Even better, an accompanying tour, Not Dead Yet Live continues in 2017. Snap up the chance to see a living legend live, buy Phil Collins tickets at StubHub.
