Once known as SMU Coliseum, the Moody Coliseum opened its doors in 1956 and was renamed in 1965 for William Lewis Moody, Jr of Galveston, Texas. The arena has been home to the SMU Mustangs Basketball team since the place opened in 1956, and SMU Women's Volleyball was added to the roster in the late '90s. For a short time, the multi-purpose arena also hosted the Dallas Chaparrals and Texas Chaparrals of the American Basketball Association before they relocated to San Antonio and was a temporary home to the San Antonio Spurs as well. Over the decades since the doors of the Moody Coliseum have opened, several improvements have been made throughout the arena to modernize and improve the overall experience at the facility. Events held at the stadium include cheer leading, drill team, basketball camps during the summer and the occasional concert like The Rolling Stones tour of 1969. Where can I park when I arrive at my event?

You can use the Moody, Binkley and Mustang Parking Centers as well as Mockingbird Station.

How do I find my seats once I arrive?

You will find a three-digit section number printed on your ticket followed by the row and seat number you are assigned to. Patrons are asked to please use their assigned seat so as not to confuse or cause any problems for other guests.

Is wheelchair-accessible seating available at the Moody Coliseum?

Accessible seating is limited to the loge section of the arena, and availability is limited. You are encouraged to identify any special needs you have at the time of ticket purchase to eliminate any problems on the day of your event.

I have to drop someone off at the venue; is there a convenient pick-up or drop-off location?

Anyone needing to pick up or drop off a friend or family member can do so at the intersection of Bush Avenue and Binkley for the most convenient location.

No outside food or drink is permitted within the facility. However, you can find many options for food and beverages in the main concourse of the arena.

How early can I arrive at the event?

Doors open to ticketholders an hour and a half before each show or game starts.

Are cameras allowed inside the arena?
