Metro Station Tickets
One of the most vibrant bands to emerge from the Myspace era, Metro Station achieved worldwide fame with a melodic blend of electro-pop and emo-rock. The Los Angeles quartet embarked on a hiatus at the height of their popularity but returned triumphantly five years later with a mixtape-style second album which proved they'd lost none of their ability to produce killer hooks.
After completing their final run of shows on the annual Vans Warped Tour, the band will head over to the other side of the Atlantic for headline dates at York's Fibbers, Stoke-on-Trent's Sugarmill, Liverpool's O2 Academy and London's Alexandra Palace. Metro Station tickets are also on sale for performances at Switzerland's Kulturfabrik Kofmehl and Paris' La Boule Noire.
The son of country singer Billy Ray and brother of former Hannah Montana star Miley, frontman Trace Cyrus first met bandmate Mason Musso on the set of the Disney Channel's hit tween show, which also starred the latter's sibling Mitchel. In 2009, the band contributed the song 'Where's My Angel' to the soundtrack of Tim Burton's fantasy film Alice in Wonderland.
Guitarists and vocalists Cyrus and Musso formed the band in early 2006, with former Synthetic Joy bassist/keyboardist Blake Healy and drummer Anthony Improgo completing the line-up later the same year. Discovered via Myspace by an intern working for Columbia Records' Walking Eye program, the group were subsequently championed by music publication Alternative Press and continued to build their audience with the singles 'Kelsey' and 'Control'.
The demand for Metro Station tickets increased significantly in 2008 when the anthemic electro-pop of 'Shake It' hit the Top 10 in America and across Europe. Its success helped the group to land a spot on the 2009 Believers Never Die Part Deux Tour alongside Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship, All Time Low and Hey Monday, while follow-up single 'Seventeen Forever' also reached the US Hot 100.
Metro Station's self-titled debut album first hit the shelves in 2007 but only reached its US Top 40 peak a year later thanks to the success of 'Shake It', eventually selling over 400,000 copies in the States. Following various disputes between Cyrus and Musso, the band announced they were taking a break in 2010, before the latter revived the name for 2013 solo EP Middle of the Night. After Cyrus returned to the fold, the downsized duo bounced back in style in 2014 with the Gold EP and an appearance alongside The Downtown Fiction, The Ready Set and Against The Current on The Outsiders Tour. In 2015, the pair released Savior, an 18-track mixtape collection featuring a collaboration with Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke.
Despite taking themselves off the road for over half a decade, Metro Station have since shown that they still know how to throw the ultimate emo-pop party. Alongside all the highlights from their first studio effort and long-awaited sophomore, fans with Metro Station tickets should expect a dazzling light show and plenty of dancing, sing-along and hands-in-the-air moments. Heavily tattooed pin-up Cyrus is also renowned for taking his shirt off at any opportune moment. Throw in some cheeky banter, the occasional guest spot, and the odd unlikely cover, and the Metro Station live experience is a guaranteed ball of fun.
