Mark Owen Biography - Boy Band Babe to Solo Superstar
This Lancashire lad, born in 1972, scored his big break at the age of 18 when he successfully auditioned for Take That. The group's well-documented success included eight Number One singles and numerous huge tours, before they split in 1996. The cheekiest member became the first to go solo after the breakup, with his debut solo single 'Child' and follow-up 'Clementine' both soaring into the Top 5. After disappearing from the spotlight, his sweet nature helped him win Celebrity Big Brother in 2002 and soon after he released second album In Your Own Time, spawning his indie-influenced fan-favourite 'Four Minute Warning'.
Due to fan demand, TT finally reunited in 2005, selling over one million concert tickets in just five hours. Their second wave of success has proved just as big as their first, especially after being rejoined by Robbie Williams for 2011's Progress album and subsequent tour. Following a string of huge stadium shows the fivesome are again on hiatus, leaving Owen to prove himself as a solo artist all over again.
