Lower Dens Tickets
Lower Dens is an American indie pop band that hails from Baltimore, Maryland, in the United States. They formed back in 2010, when singer Jana Hunter teamed up with some talented musicians in order to start making raw, honest pop music with an indie twist. They've since released plenty of hit singles that are infused with their love for catchy 80s hits and melodramatic love songs.
Lower Dens loves taking the stage and entertaining audiences around the world, so you should be able to score Lower Dens tickets at one of many awesome venues that they're soon hitting up. They are playing at MoMA in New York, at the FYF Festival in Los Angeles, and at the Druid Hill Festival in Druid Hill Park, Baltimore. These shows will also be great for fans who want to catch other artists along with Lower Dens. Later, they will be playing a number of shows at venues like the Bowery Ballroom in New York CIty and Spirit Hall in Pittsburgh, as well.
The idea for this band came about when the singer/songwriter Jana Hunter was performing as a solo artist. She got a bit tired of touring and decided to take a short break from the road. Not one to take too much time off from musical pursuits, she decided to put together a backing band. She loved this experience so much that she continued playing with them as Lower Dens, rather than returning to a solo career. Hunter's vocals often get compared to those of PJ Harvey and Beach House.
The band is made up of singer Jana Hunter, Geoff Graham, Abram Sanders and Will Adams. Hunter had a solo career before forming Lower Dens, but teamed up with the other members of Lower Dens after playing with them for only a short time. They are a very versatile group that uses a variety of different instruments to write their music, including guitars, keyboards and laptops.
Hunter was already well-established as a solo singer when she met the other members of Lower Dens, so it didn't take long for them to build a fanbase of their own. The band formed in 2010 and began playing shows together shortly after they met. They released their first album "Twin Hand Movement" in mid-2010 on Gnomonsong records. The album got an 8.1 rating in Pitchfork and Dusted Magazine raved about the album's lyrics. This critical acclaim earned them heaps of attention in the indie music world.
Their first album paved their way to success, but it isn't the only notable album that they have released. Their next album, "Nootropics," was released in 2012, and got great reviews from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone and Spin, among other popular music publications. They went on to open for Beach House and Yo La Tengo, and then released another 7-inch with a popular song called "Non Grata." Their third album, "Escape from Evil," came out in March of 2015.
Because the band uses so many different instruments to perform their music, their show experience is usually pretty varied and eclectic. They incorporate a lot of synth and laptop production into their live shows, so fans with Lower Dens tickets will get a bit of an electronic experience when seeing them live. They are known for creating a personal atmosphere and making their shows feel very intimate, even when they are playing to giant packed houses.
