London Stadium, Queen Elizabeth II Olympic Park

Specially built as the main venue for the 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, this spectacular space is situated in Stratford, to the east of London. Occupying an area over four London boroughs, the park contains within it the London Aquatics Centre, the Olympic Stadium, the Media Centre, Velopark and Basketball Arena. Reopened to the public fully in April 2014, the venue now plays host to some of the UK's biggest sporting events. 2013 saw the London Grand Prix athletics visit the stadium, while the third stage of the 2014 Tour de France between Cambridge and The Mall passed through the park. The 2015 European Hockey Championships took  place at the Lee Valley Centre as did the 2017 World Athletics Championships will also take place at the stadium.

The stadium also hosted the Unibet EuroHockey Championships this August, as teams from all over Europe recreate Olympic-style fever as they battle it out for victory at the state of the art Lee Valley Hockey Centre. The top 8 men's and women's teams will be competing in the event, as they gear up for the rapidly approaching 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Venue Information

Easily accessible by all of London's major transport links, from train to bus to tube, being the terminus of the Jubilee line, the park covers parts of Stratford, Layton and Hackney Wick in East London.
