Lissie Biography - Lifted by Lenny
Growing up in Rock Island Illinois, Elizabeth Maurus displayed a keen interest in singing from a young age, appearing in her high school musicals and eventually performing in clubs around Colorado State University as she studied for a diploma. She got her big break after recording the single 'All My Life' with DJ Harry which appeared on countless American TV shows including The OC and Veronica Mars.
Her big break came when retro rock legend Lenny Kravitz requested that she be his opening act for his Love Revolution tour in 2008, after hearing her music on social networking site MySpace. Buoyed by the exposure, her first EP Why You Runnin was heralded by hip US publication Paste, leading to a deal with Sony Music UK. After garnering a huge British fan base with her gold selling debut album Catching a Tiger, the 'Further Away' singer is all set for megastardom with follow-up Back to Forever.
