Kygo - Debut Album Cloud Nine Arrives in 2016
Just a few years into a remarkable career, Norwegian DJ Kyree Gorvell-Dahll has become an unstoppable force in the charts thanks to a style that brings house music into the mainstream. Fans have long awaited his debut album Cloud Nine, but its perfectionist producer delayed its release in early 2016, expressing a desire to polish the edges before unleashing it on the public. With rumours of collaborations with the likes of Sia, Tom Odell, John Legend and Labrinth, it's set to be a monster hit upon its unveiling. A favourite at music festivals across the world, this Scandinavian sensation had his breakthrough moment back in 2014 when a remix of Ed Sheeran's 'I See Fire' went viral. He followed it up with original material, such as hit singles 'Firestone' and 'Stole the Show', debuting his original tropical house sound.
Now one of the most exciting acts on the planet, this electronic artist treats UK fans to exclusive live dates in Glasgow, London and Manchester to celebrate his new LP. Get your Kygo tickets from StubHub, with all purchases assured by our industry-first FanProtect Guarantee.
Kygo Biography - Bringing House Music to the Mainstream
Born in 1991, Gorvell-Dahll's musical talents were first unearthed when he taught himself the piano at the age of six. By the time he was 15, he was producing his own music at home, and began to make his name over the next few years. It didn't take long before established artists from Avicii to Coldplay's Chris Martin came knocking with requests, hoping to tap into his creativity for remixes of some of their greatest hits.
Gorvell-Dahll has been hailed as more of a musician than a DJ thanks to his role in popularising tropical house, a form of electronic music that has proved perfect for summer raves and festivals. Taking catchy songs, such as Marvin Gaye's 'Sexual Healing',he slows them down, adding an assortment of steel drums and synthesized flutes to the mix to reinvent the track. Today, he's a constant presence in the UK charts, with hits like 'Here for You' and 'Nothing Left' keeping him at the top of the best party playlists. With seven singles dropped in 2015, the release of his debut album will prove that the hype was more than justified.
