Justin Townes Earle tour dates
The son of country musician Steve Earle, one might have expected Justin Townes Earle to break onto the musical scene in his own right. Forming his own unique take on contemporary Americana with a blend of country, blues, folk and ragtime, Earle mesmerises audiences on the Justin Townes Earle tour with his gentle acoustics, powerful technique and raw, honest and extremely personal content.
Justin Townes Earle's background
Growing up in South Nashville, Tennessee, Justin Townes Earle was immersed in the world of music from an early age, and not just because of his geographic location. As the son of outlaw country music legend Steve Earle, who was perhaps best known for his hit song "Copperhead Road," it was only natural that Justin should follow in his father's musical footsteps. Earle developed his talent by joining a series of bands throughout his teens, playing acoustic bluegrass with The Swindlers and rock with The Distributors. He was even tapped to tour with The Dukes, Steve Earle's backing band.
In 2007, Earle kickstarted his solo career with the release of his debut EP, Yuma, leading to a deal with Bloodshot Records. His debut full-length album, The Good Life, followed in 2008, earning him a spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart at No. 70. Two years later, Earle followed this success with his second studio album, Midnight at the Movies (2009). During this period of time, Earle toured extensively with major names in music such as the Old Crow Medicine Show, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings on The Big Surprise Tour.
Earle found his big break with the release of Harlem River Blues in 2010. The album quickly reached No. 47 on the Billboard 200 chart, rising even higher on Independent Albums and Americana/Folk Albums charts. His 2012 album, Nothing's Gonna Change the Way You Feel about Me Now, experienced similar success, reaching No. 62 on the Billboard 200.
In 2014 and 2015, Earle released his very personal companion albums Single Mothers and Absent Fathers. Originally meant as a double album, Earle ultimately separated the two records, feeling they were more meaningful when presented in this manner.
Justin Townes Earle's noteworthy awards
