The group formed in the late 1990s and have gone on to release five studio albums - the last three of which have reached Number one in their native Australia. John Butler Trio Biography - Tremendous Jam Band

The eminent singer John Butler was born in California in 1975 to an Australian father and an American mother. When he was eleven, his family moved back to Oz to a town called Pinjarra where he discovered his unrelenting passion for music. Butler started playing the guitar at the age of 16 and soon began busking across Western Australia. By 1998, the trio as we know it today formed for the first time when Butler teamed up with bassist Gavin Shoesmith and drummer Jason McGann. Their debut album John Butler helped the group secure a growing fan base, helping their subsequent releases Three (2001), Sunrise Over the Sea (2004) and Grand National (2007) go platinum.

Their record April Uprising propelled the outfit to further international fame, paving the way for their latest exciting new release Flesh and Blood. Tracks like 'Ocean', 'Fire in the Sky' and 'Message in A Bottle' have cemented this outfit as one of Australia's most exciting exports and 2014 is sure to be a great year for the band, with plenty of live performances coming up across the globe.
