Jay Electronica Biography - Elusive Star of Roc Nation
The rapper started his life in the Magnolia Projects of New Orleans and found himself inspired by his uncle's rhyming ability. At the age of 19 he left the city to pursue his ambitions and found himself moving from city to city, working with producers to develop his style. Built from the soundtrack to the film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind the rapper's first full release was a five segment piece including rap, dialogue and spoken word. After initially posting tracks on MySpace, the artist began to gain wider circulation, with EP Style Wars appearing in late 2007. Two official singles were released in 2010, 'Exhibit A' and 'Exhibit C', the latter of which won a Sucker Free Summit Award for an Instant Classic. With the majority of his music released via the internet, fans of this mysterious talent question whether he will ever bring out a physical record. Since being formally announced in 2012, alongside a track listing including collaborations with the likes of Jay Z and Kanye West, there has been little new on when Act II: Patents of Nobility will be released. The years since have seen collaborations with Jay Z, such as a remix of Soulja Boy's 'We Made It' and 2015's 'Road to Perdition'.
