Born in 1983 and raised in Dallas, Iliza Shlesinger showed interest in languages and writing comedy at a young age when she started performing locally with comedy organisation ComedySportz. She transferred to Boston for college and joined a campus comedy sketch group called Jimmy’s Traveling All Stars, and upon graduating moved to Los Angeles to follow a career in stand-up comedy.
