Hudson Mohawke Tickets
Hudson Mohawke may have first met your ears as the electronic duo TNGHT, but the artist is exceptionally skilled as a solo artist as well. After releasing his second solo studio album, HudMo (as he is affectionately called by his fans) will be headed out on tour to show off his newest beats.
Hudson Mohawke has performed all over, and will soon tour Europe as well as the United States for a few select dates. The artist will make several stops around the United Kingdom, with shows planned in Leeds, Reading, Manchester and Downsend (for Bestival). He will also make appearances in Paris, Stockholm, Rome, Dublin and more.
Although Hudson Mohawke's most recent album, "Lantern," features no rappers (despite his wide recognition for producing hip-hop records with the likes of Kanye West), that doesn't mean he didn't try to recruit any for his new project. In an interview with Pitchfork in April 2015, he reveals that he attempted to get Outkast's Andre 3000 on one song. As he told the site, though, the rapper "wanted to do it" but wasn't able to -- he was tied up working on a film at the time.
Hudson Mohawke, or as he is casually known, Ross Birchard, emerged from Glasgow, Scotland, as an electronic music producer and DJ in the early to mid-2000s. As a 15-year-old, Birchard (who at the time was performing as DJ Itchy or DJ Mayhem) became the youngest ever UK DMC DJ championship finalist, around the same time he was working as a club DJ with Glasgow University's Subcity Radio. Today, Hudson Mohawke is signed to Warp Records as well as Kanye West's GOOD Music, and also performs as one half of the electronic duo TNGHT with Canadian producer Lunice.
Hudson Mohawke signed to Warp Records in 2009, even before he had any significant releases under his belt. At the time, most of his music was in the form of unofficially released DJ mixes on YouTube and other social networks. "Spotted," one of his first official drops, eventually caught widespread attention, and paved the way for his first studio album, "Butter," released via Warp the same year.
After the success of "Butter" in 2009, Hudson Mohawke began working with Kanye West on collaborations for the rapper's GOOD Music record "Cruel Summer." Less than a year after, Mohawke was officially signed to GOOD as a producer (while remaining with Warp as an artist). "Lantern," Hudson Mohawke's second solo studio album, was released in the summer of 2015 and featured guest appearances by Antony Hegarty, Miguel and Jhené Aiko. The album was met with critical acclaim by publications like Pitchfork, The Guardian and Consequence of Sound.
As many say, Hudson Mohawke's shows are full of energy, providing ample, heart-pumping beats for fans looking to dance. Sometimes employing live musicians for his tours, his performances are eclectic and unpredictable. Concertgoers with Hudson Mohawke tickets should be prepared to move their feet and see a dynamic event.
