H. Hawkline Tickets
Originally from Cardiff, H. Hawkline has made Los Angeles his home as he refines his brand of seductive, West Coast indie rock. With a magnetic voice and upbeat arrangements, H. Hawkline is quickly making a name for himself as one of the hottest young rock acts on either side of the Atlantic.
H. Hawkline has a busy summer of major festivals around the United Kingdom. He'll be performing at Caught by the River Teifi in Cardigan and the Green Man Festival in Powys. H. Hawkline tickets are also available for upcoming club shows, including at Brudenell Social Club in Leeds, Think Tank @ Digital in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Soup Kitchen in Manchester, The Basement in Brighton, The Louisiana in Bristol, and Oslo Hackney in London.
H. Hawkline is part of a tight-knit musical scene. He's close to the members of Cate Le Bon, Sweet Baboo, and Gruff Rhys; the bands frequently tour together and perform on each other's recordings. Cate Le Bon produced Hawkline's debut full-length. The young cadre each have a distinctive sound, but are all working within the indie rock world. Their stars appear to be rising together.
Born Huw Evans, H. Hawkline has been cultivating his sound in the underground, often releasing recordings for free via his Bandcamp while touring prolifically. His music bears the influence of seminal bands such as The Velvet Underground and the subtleties of Brian Eno-style production, but it's thoroughly contemporary in sound. It eschews the grunginess of contemporaries such as Kurt Vile and Ty Segall, preferring a cleaner sound and legible, thoughtful lyrics. He records almost all the instruments on his songs himself, overdubbing to create rich harmonies while thoughtfully applying reverb and distortion to maximal effect.
H. Hawkline made his breakthrough with his 2015 major label release, esoterically named In the Pink of Condition. The album was featured by the popular music website NME, and led to a series of major festival bookings for the summer of 2015. The Guardian highlighted it upon its release in February 2015, calling it "the one album you should hear this week" and drawing attention to its "beautiful melodies and choruses".
Prior to In the Pink of Condition, H. Hawkline released a series of critically acclaimed EPs that drew an audience via word of mouth. He released the single "You Say You Love Me" on a 2011 split 7" with the band My Sad Captains, and followed this with the Black Domino Box EP, which was released digitally and on limited edition cassette tapes.
Show ExperienceH. Hawkline draws a young, hip crowd eager to see the next big thing. His sets are filled with catchy, original material: a mixture of songs from his first album and new, unreleased work. His shows are almost always standing room, whether at festivals or clubs, and dancing is encouraged, though many choose to stand and listen. He indulges in light banter between songs, ensuring that everyone with H. Hawkline tickets has a great time at his shows."
