Keeping It Real with Gramatik
Gramatik is the electronic artist from Slovenia. He specialises in hip-hop, electro, and dubstep beats and started performing in 2008. This artist has been delighting crowds and encouraging fans to dance with their hands in the air ever since. He is based in Brooklyn, New York, but spends a lot of time travelling on tour in Europe as well as across the states. Not only that, but he also runs his own record label, Lowtemp, that features artists like Exmag, Gibbz, BRANX, and Russ Liquid. This super talented musician continues to break barriers with his musical stylings.
Gramatik has a jam-packed schedule with shows booked across the United States and Europe. After touring the US with several stops in California and the Midwest, he'll head to Austria, Switzerland, France, and then Germany. After that, he'll continue across Europe and play multiple dates in the UK before reaching Canada.
TriviaGramatik may have a serious following, but he describes himself as a bit of a jokester. The artist calls himself a "part-time musician and full-time comedian," and warns fans to never take his music too seriously.
SingerGramatik's real name is Denis Jasarevic, and he was born in the small town of Portoroz, Slovenia. He became interested in music as a young child, and his mother would catch him listening to the variety of music on his sister's cassette tapes. As he got a little older, he became interested in hip-hop culture and was influenced by artists such as DJ Premier, Rza, and Dr. Dre. He started producing music on his personal computer at age 13, and later shared his music with friends and peers through the online music store Beatport.
The singer moved to New York in 2008 and didn't waste any time getting his music career in order. He wasn't expecting the initial success he had as an artist. He received three Best Track awards from the Beatport Music Awards in 2012 and also had a nomination for the top Chill Out Artist in 2010. He's been lighting up stages and forming relationships with his fans ever since he started out.
Gramatik got his big break in 2008 when he released his first album of hip-hop beats, Expedition 44. The album stayed on the Top 100 Chill Out charts for six months and sold well online. A year later, he signed with Pretty Lights Music and released his next few records. He gained attention for his unique mix of dubstep, electro, and funk.
In addition to his debut album, Expedition 44, the artist has had a number of other successful albums that he released with Pretty Lights Music, including Street Bangerz, No Shortcuts, and The Age of Reason. His EPs include Dreams About Her, Water 4 the Soul, and #digital freedom.
Having Gramatik tickets is a little bit like witnessing live sorcery. He stands on stage, often with brass musicians or other electronic artists, surrounded by a cloud of mist that gives the event an otherworldly feel. The crowd pulsates while he alternates between dropping rhymes into the mic, spinning records on his mixer, and whipping up beats on his computer-controlled sound system. His shows are filled with energy, and even when the music settles into a slow, melodic pace, he still brings a charge to the stage with awe-inspiring light shows.
