Foxygen Biography - From School Friends to Stage-Dominating Rockers

Aged just 15 years when the band was formed back in 2005, friends Sam France and Jonathan Rado drew upon influences from classic rock acts including the Ramones and Led Zeppelin to produce a clutch of tracks whilst still at school. However, college beckoned and the two split to pursue their respective paths. Yet the duo couldn't get the same satisfaction out of the bands they played in at university and inevitably reunited to produceEP Take the Kids Off Broadway - a record which caught the eye of infamous producer Richard Swift. The group were soon signed to iconic indie label Jagjaguwar in 2012, and a year later they were ready to release full-length debut We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic.

Proficient in a whole range of instruments, this band suffers nothing from their small line-up. Sam France's high-pitched vocals, sung from underneath an iconic overgrown fringe, make for an impressive frontman whilst Rado is every bit the classic rock guitarist in the same vein as Jimi Hendrix.
