Drahla is restructuring sound as we know it
Tipped as one of the most exciting bands of the decade, three-piece Drahla has proved that it's not afraid of being completely different. Although they broadly fall into the post-punk category, the group has created a sound that is entirely their own, combining clever songwriting with layered melodies and minimalistic punk influences. Drahla tickets are available to buy or sell on StubHub and will guarantee you an exciting, energy-fuelled live performance.
From London to Leeds: a creative journey
Some bands can't really be appreciated until they're experienced live, and it would be fair to say that Drahla falls into this category. Impassioned shows fuelled by their genre-subverting sound have gained them an admiring fan base that spreads out from their native Leeds, around the UK, across Europe and even over to North America. After having toured with METZ, 2018 saw them picked up to support Canadian punk group Ought, who themselves were hugely influential (along with Wire and The Fall) in the innovation of Drahla's music. Another major factor was a spell of living in London: unusually, two of the band's founding members relocated back to Leeds after feeling that the capital wasn't helping them to realise the project they were searching for. Though a much smaller scene, Leeds provided the creative breakthrough necessary for Drahla to launch their fresh, brazenly different sound. Think subverted structures, cryptic lyrics and fuzzy, pedal-heavy guitars and you've got some idea of what to expect when you get your hands on increasingly sought after Drahla tickets.
Fire and fury in Drahla lyrics
Inspired by a range of subjects that extend beyond the normal dramas of love and loss to include society, identity and even religion, Drahla's lyrics are largely composed by talented lead vocalist Luciel Brown. Adopting a spoken drawl rather than a scream, the playfully twisted words stand out against a relentless backdrop of heavy bass, pedal-distorted guitar and robust drums. Claiming that they don't follow trends because they aren't aware of any, Drahla is a band that is utterly determined to forge its own path, making music that sounds right to them and picking up legions of fans through this uncompromisingly personal approach. Songs like 'Silk Spirit', which Drahla produced with MJ of Hookworms and released themselves in 2017, got the attention of Captured Tracks, with whom the band began releasing music in 2018 - thus joining an exciting line-up of developmental artists including Wax Chattels and Lina Tullgren. Focused, creative and formidably unique, this young trio is taking music to places you'll want to see. Join them on their journey by buying or selling Drahla tickets on StubHub now!
