Trivia
Don't let yourself get immersed in the wonderful live blues music of Doyle Bramhall II without first knowing some trivia bits about the man before you go. Doyle Bramhall II has been featured on four separated Crossroads Guitar Festival live video albums alongside Eric Clapton (in 2004, 2007, 2010 and 2013). He also shared the lead vocals (alongside Jon Carin and Roger Waters) on the track "Dogs" off of Waters' In the Flesh-Live CD released in 2000. Bramhall II was also prominently featured alongside Eric Clapton on Clapton's 50th Anniversary Tour in 2013.
Singer
Doyle Bramhall II is the offspring of blues royalty; his father, Doyle Bramhall, was an influential figure in the Southwestern U.S. drum scene, and performed alongside Lightnin' Hopkins, Jimmie and Stevie Ray Vaughan and Freddie King. Unlike his father, though, Doyle Bramhall II grew up as a guitarist, and quickly became a young phenom. Introduced to the Texas music scene early, he began his career touring with The Fabulous Thunderbirds before founding the Arc Angels, and influential blues rock band that scored a success with their album debut Arc Angels in 1992. Four years later, Bramhall II went into the studio for himself to release his first solo record entitled Doyle Bramhall II.
Breakthrough
Bramhall II's second album, Jellycream, got the attention of the industry when it hit in 1999. Full of bluesy masterpieces like "I Wanna Be" and "Marry You," Bramhall II's prolific playing and showmanship made him an in-demand studio and touring guitarist. He joined Eric Clapton to play on his Riding with the King album and then joined with former Pink Floyd guitarist Roger Waters for the massive In the Flesh - Live tour, playing both on the tour, the live album and the live DVD. After the tour with Waters finished, Bramhall II went back in the studio to make Welcome, his third studio album, released in 2001, and then went on tour with Sheryl Crow for her 2010 road dates and with Clapton for a 2013 tour. Most recently, he played on the "Experience Hendrix" tour in 2014.
Hit Albums
In addition to his prolific playing on the acclaimed records of other iconic artists - Eric Clapton and Roger Waters, for example - Bramhall II has released several of his own, hit solo records. His debut Doyle Bramhall II is full of down and dirty blues punch, and his playing got even sharper and more captivating on the follow-up Jellycream and the more mature Welcome. His release on with the band Arc Angels, Arc Angels, is a powerful blues-rock hit.
Show Experience
Those who get Doyle Bramhall II tickets will get to experience all the best of live blues shows. There's plenty of dancing and grooving to Bramhall II's intricate riffs and solos, in the fine tradition of great American blues artists.
