From Eminem to the Oscars
Born Florian Cloud de Bounevialle Armstrong on Christmas Day in London in 1971, Dido studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as a youngster and first gained attention providing vocals for her brother Rollo's chart-topping dance outfit Faithless. After landing a solo deal with Arista Records, she released her debut album, "No Angel", in 1999. The record was a modest hit at first but became a phenomenon a year later thanks to Eminem's sample of its standout track, "Thank You", on his number one single "Stan". 2003 follow-up "Life for Rent" consolidated her success and remains one of the U.K.'s fastest-selling albums ever. After a lengthy break, Dido returned to the spotlight with 2008's mournful "Safe Trip Home" and four years later she bagged an Oscar nomination with her contribution to the soundtrack of Danny Boyle's "127 Hours". In 2013, she released both her fourth album, "Girl Who Got Away", and a hits collection, while her fifth LP, "Still On My Mind", hit the shelves in 2019. Dido's return to the live stage
Dido repeatedly hit the road during her early '00s golden period, however following the release of 2003's "Life for Rent", she decided to quit performing live. She eventually returned to the stage after 15 years with the launch of a world tour to support fifth album, "Still On My Mind". Fans can expect to see a performer determined to prove that her voice remains every bit as compelling as it was during her chart heyday. Alongside newer material from her long-awaited comeback LP, setlists are likely to feature many of the hits that launched her to fame on both sides of the Atlantic including the Eminem-sampled breakthrough "Thank You", UK Top 20 singles "Life for Rent", "Hunter" and "Here With Me" and the Grammy Awards-nominated ballad "White Flag". If you weren't lucky enough to catch the BRIT Award-winning singer-songwriter live on stage first time around, don't miss out on the opportunity to do so now. Book your Dido tickets on StubHub today.
