Creamfields 2018: dance music's biggest festival turns 21
Beginning as an offshoot of Liverpool's famous Cream nightclub, Creamfields is a world-renowned, multi-award winning festival that has grown exponentially in both size and stature since debuting in 1998.
Now dance music’s biggest festival and rave mecca – attracting some 60,000 ravers a day to its Cheshire site every August bank holiday – the festival returned for its 20th year in 2017 with a lineup befitting its anniversary, including The Chainsmokers, Chase & Status, deadmau5, Stormzy and Faithless.
Besides such giant performers each and every year, you can expect to see a myriad of different styles and genres spread across the multiple arenas and outdoor stages again in 2018, making this an event that dance music fans cannot afford to miss. Grab your Creamfields 2018 tickets at StubHub now.
Creamfields: best of last year's lineup
Creamfields signaled its intention to take full advantage of being granted an extended four-day licence by announcing a colossal 300 acts spread across more than 30 stages for its 2017 event.
Some of the biggest names included Annie Mac, deadmau5, Sigma, Stormzy and Pendulum. Acts are yet to be confirmed for 2018, but with the pedigree of recent years it's safe to say that Creamfields 2018 won't disappoint. So be sure to watch this space and pick up Creamfields tickets at StubHub.
Creamfields around the world
As well as the original and, let’s face it, the best Creamfields in the UK, the festival has a long history of holding residencies around the globe.
Dublin hosted the first international Creamfields event in 2001, and the brand was introduced to the South American market the following year; debuting in Argentina. Further events in the Czech Republic, Turkey, Mexico, Chile and Spain followed, with the franchise winning numerous awards – including beating Glastonbury and V Festival to the title of Festival of the Year – and smashing its own attendance records.
In 2009, Creamfields sold out for the first time in its history – breaching the 60,000-people barrier – and was named Tourism Event of the Year by VisitLiverpool. Residencies in Australia and New Zealand followed, before the brand’s seemingly unstoppable rise was checked by the British weather – with the 2012 event having to be cancelled due to heavy rain.
The festival returned to even bigger crowds in 2013 and continues to grow, with an extended four-day licence granted for the UK-event in 2016 and a record number of party seekers visiting in 2017.
