Morgan told American Magazine he feels driven to connect with and perform for U.S. soldiers "because I have been there. I can appreciate that and have the ability to communicate with them a little differently." Morgan is also a known benefactor and fundraiser for charitable military organizations, including the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

Morgan's self-titled debut album launched his career in 2000 when his hit song "Something to Write Home About" reached No. 39 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart. His most revered single, "That's What I Love About Sunday," from 2004's My Kind of Livin', spent four weeks as No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart and took the No. 1 spot on the Billboard U.S. Country Songs year-end chart.

In total, Morgan's had 17 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart, including classic hits such as "Almost Home," "Redneck Yacht Club," "Little Bit of Life" and "International Harvester."
