CKY Tickets

A Pennsylvanian rock band, CKY is a three-piece made up of Chad I Ginsburg, a singer and guitarist, Jess Margera, a drummer, and the bassist, Matt Deis. The group was founded in 1998 by Deron Miller. Miller also performed with the melodic metal band, World Under Blood, as well as the progressive heavy rock outfit, Foreign Objects. Other former members include Matt Janaitis and Daniel Davies. In February 2015, CKY played a gig that Miller claimed he had no prior knowledge of. Ginsburg played the show at Amnesia Rockfest as a solo performer officially, but with Margera and Deis. As a result, it was decided that Ginsburg would continue with the others as CKY, with him taking over as the frontman from Miller, who departed.

The band first performed officially as CKY with its new lineup in 2016, when the trio took to the stage of the Random Hero Festival in Cleveland, Ohio. In 2017, the band announced that they would tour as a three-piece across much of North America, and with 12 dates booked in the UK. This was the first time that the band had played in Europe since having done so with Miller in 2011. A number of venues were upgraded during the tour, with some extra dates added at others, such was the interest in CKY's new incarnation.

CKY's early career

Margera and Miller met at high school and soon discovered a shared love of rock music. After playing in a couple of short-lived bands, CKY was formed with Ginsburg, who was then working as an audio engineer. Between November 1997 and February 1998, the group laid down the tracks for what would become their debut release. Two album's worth of material ensued, spawning Volume 1 and Volume 2. Some of their music was used for stunt videos, which led to the band getting higher exposure. In 1999, the band took part in Warped Tour and gained an even greater level of recognition as a result. Having previously signed to Volcom, CKY switched for a new deal with Def Jam Records in 2001.

CKY's breakthrough

The group recorded its second studio album, a work called Infiltrate•Destroy•Rebuild, starting late in 2001. Completed the following year, it went on to enjoy mainstream success, reaching number 99 in the US Billboard 200. A single from the work, called “Flesh Into Gear”, made it into the Mainstream Rock charts, too. As well as touring North America in their own right for the first time, the band started to get high profile gigs, such as supporting Guns 'n' Roses in Canada around this time. An Answer Can Be Found, an album that came out in 2005, would go on to peak at number 35 in the American album charts, thereby cementing CKY's success as a hit-making rock outfit.
