Brewery Ommegang History

Based on traditional Belgian farmhouse architecture, the Brewery Ommegang broken ground in 1997 in upstate New York on a former hop farm with the philosophy that unique ales must be built from the ground up. The Belgian style microbrewery was created not long after, offering up daily tours and tasting, a full calendar of special events and a discovery of some of the world's best brew. Though its history is not long, the Brewery Ommegang only opened a little over a decade ago with the inspiration to create a brewery that was inspired by the rich history of Belgium – one that mixed the European traditions of culture and agriculture.

There is never a shortage of talent on the way at Brewery Ommegang, as this stage consistently sees big names play their best tunes for all to enjoy. As usual, the schedule is filled with great entertainment options, so be sure to secure your seats as soon as you can. July will see The Decemberists take center stage at Brewery Ommegang to play all of their best tunes. This group features a large number of band members and some eclectic instrumental choices. Lead singer Colin Meloy has long been lauded as a fantastic storyteller, and many of the Decemberists' songs have a great story within them. This group has dabbled in a multitude of different musical styles over the years, so to hear them run the gamut of their discography would be an amazing experience. Be sure to check out this band live and in person at Brewery Ommegang this summer. Another great show is set for July, as Dinosaur Jr. and Primus are prepared to take the stage at this location. Expect this venue to be packed with fans ready to see these two well-known bands.
