Alanis Morissette announces two London and two Ireland gigs in summer 2018
Known for the mega successful album Jagged Little Pill, Alanis Morissette is a down to Earth superstar more concerned about the environment than keeping up with the latest trends. Her transformation from teenage dance diva to empowered, edgy singer-songwriter in the early 1990s established Morissette as an alternative for young women yearning for something more profound than bubblegum pop.
Having remained true to her ethos, Alanis Morissette continues to evolve alongside her fans, displaying a more mature sound on her latest albums. Experience this unique singer live – buy Alanis Morissette tickets now at StubHub; assured by our FanProtect Guarantee.
Alanis Morissette: pop singer turned alternative icon
Born in Ottawa in 1974, Alanis Morissette was exposed to the entertainment industry at a tender age, joining the cast of the Canadian children's television program You Can't Do That on Television. Her self-titled debut – released in 1991 – saw the birth of the Alanis Morissette discography, followed by the sophomore effort Now Is The Time. The real breakthrough, however, came with the 1995 release of Jagged Little Pill, which earned her two Grammy awards the following year.
The now seven-time Grammy winner followed that up by Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie (1998), MTV Unplugged (1999), Under Rug Swept (2002), So Called Chaos (2004), Jagged Little Pill Acoustic (2005), her greatest hits album, The Collection (2005), Flavours of Entanglement (2008), Havoc and Bright Lights (2012) and Jagged Little Pill: Collector's Edition (2015).
Signed to Madonna's label Maverick in her early career, trademark Alanis Morissette songs are often written by the artist herself, drawing inspiration from her own life experiences. Singles like "You Oughta Know", "Thank You" and "Ironic" have earned Alanis Morissette albums a loyal fan base who eagerly anticipate the Canadian singer's next move. And fans will be delighted to know that after over 20 years in the business she's still working on new music.
Morisette returns to Europe in July 2018 with four concerts in London, Cork and Dublin. She will take to the stage on 4 July at Live at the Marquee Cork before visting Iveagh Gardens, Dublin the evening after and in London on 7 & 13 July. So what are you waiting for?
