From The Jam Tickets
The Jam was one of the greatest bands of the post-punk era, producing a string of unforgettable hits in the early '80s and influencing several generations of artists. From The Jam has risen from the ashes of the original band, playing classics along with killer new material. It's all mod, no cons.
Schedule
U.K. fans with From The Jam tickets will get many chances to catch the band live, like at the O2 Academy in Leicester, The Junction in Cambridge, The Button Factory in Dublin, The Corn Exchange in Hertford, The Waterfront in Norwich, The Academy in Oxford, The Green Room in Darlington, The Concert Hall in Motherwell, The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen, The Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh and Clapham Grand in London, as well as a multitude of other venues.
Trivia
From The Jam almost turned into a proper Jam reunion, but this unfortunately never materialised. The dividing issue remains the same: Paul Weller and Bruce Foxton still don't get along. According to some rumours, they went 20 years without speaking. However, in 2006, the pair were spotted hugging backstage at The Who's Hyde Park show, and Foxton appeared on Weller's album the following year. But, by 2010, they had stopped speaking again, and Foxton ruled out a jam reunion, instead teaming up with local artist Russell Hastings to form From The Jam.
Band
The story of From The Jam starts with the other member of the original band: Rick Buckler. He started a tribute band called The Gift with some friends in 2005, and toured the UK playing hits by The Jam. Foxton later joined up with The Gift, so when Buckler decided to hang up his sticks, Foxton formed From The Jam. They've been on the road ever since and have recorded two albums under Bruce Foxton's name, including 2015's well-received "Smash The Clock”.
Breakthrough
The Jam formed in 1972 and changed their lineup several times. By 1976, they had finally settled on their most well-known lineup of Weller, Foxton and Buckler. Although their first big single, "In The City," is undeniably punk, they always stood out from their anarchic peers, and were left standing when punk later imploded. They had a string of critically-acclaimed albums and singles before finally hitting the top spot in the UK Singles Chart with, "Going Underground," in 1980.
Hit Albums
The Jam dominated the early '80s, combining critical and commercial success. This is especially true of their 1981 record "Sound Affects." It was hugely successful on its release, going gold in the U.K. and being voted album of the year by much of the music press. It also spawned three huge hit singles, "That's Entertainment," "Start!" and "Pretty Green." Today, it lives on as a classic of the post-punk New Wave era. Many of the bands that made up the '90s Britpop movement, from chancers like "Menswear" to genuine greats like "Blur" and "Oasis," cited "Sound Affects" as one of the albums that shaped their sound.
Show Experience
The concept of From The Jam is to provide as close of an experience to the original '70s vibe as possible. Expect some impeccably well-dressed gentlemen tearing through their spiky pop songs with voluminous energy. Fans will be pogoing up front, and your Paul Smith suit might get a little ripped in the fray, but you won't soon forget this high-energy concert experience.
